Also in the 2022 the Club for UNESCO of Vicenza continues its work of exploring the panorama of contemporary art graphics by proposing, for this sixth edition of the Mirror - Face to Face review, a selection of works by Italian and Macedonian artists. The six previous exhibitions brought artists from Macedonia, Estonia, Chile, Portugal, Bulgaria and Serbia alongside those of our home. The circle is therefore closed with a double move, a return to the origins but to look forward. Welcome back Macedonia.
Fifty-seven artists, including Italians and Macedonians, take part in this edition of Mirror - Face to Face 2022. They were invited to propose their work to the public by encouraging discussion on the artprint through different themes, techniques, interpretative perspectives.
The mirror is the gateway between the real and imaginary world, contrast between eye and gaze, exteriority and interiority, oscillation between seeing (reflecting) and understanding (making people reflect), the mirror reveals what is beyond the figurative dimension represented in the prints, expanding the space and offering the viewer perceptive doubling.
The Italian exhibition is curated by Valeria Bertesina, curator and project leader (also curator of the International Biennial Di Carta/Papermade in Schio, Vicenza), while the Macedonian exhibition is curated by Vlado Goreski (also curator of International Triennial of Graphic Art Bitola, representative of Macedonian artists).
The UNESCO Club of Vicenza and the Residence - Palace of Culture of Bitola, with the support of others and Institutions, primarily Qu.Bi Gallery and VenetArt cultural association of Vicenza and the Department of Culture of the Caldogno's Municipality, take care of the organization , respectively, for Italy and Macedonia.
Mirror - Face to Face pursues the guidelines of the 2005 UNESCO Convention on the Diversity of Cultural Expressions and the Council of Europe Convention on the Value of Cultural Heritage for Society.
