HOME, 2004
Slavica Janeslieva (Macedonia) and Natascha Stellmach (Australia) exchanged photographs from their childhood. This developed into a dialogue about memory, history and the uniforms that accompany our past. Although the two fused images of the artists as teenagers stem from different worlds, ultimately it is a representation of the one girl, with similar dreams, fears and notions of “home”, as influenced by culture and society. The text by Stellmach conveys a childlike poesy and leaves us questioning our own belief of where home is and what it means.
