The exhibition ‘In Search of a Common Ground 2’ questions the possible cultural positions and repositions of the Macedonian art scene and aims to discern the changes in Macedonia induced by the modern living in an on-going transition from one political system to another. The formation of a small and young country inevitably raises the questions of identity, history, human rights, social awareness, sustainability, art policy, cultural products etc. Therefore, the exhibition is trying to give a visual outlook and to answer these issues through different individual approaches of the selected artists. Some of the artworks are highly engaged, some are commentary, and there are participatory ones, but all of them define the artists as socially included individuals that address different aspects of the socio-political life that provokes them artistically.

Curators are Ana Frangovska and Bojana Janeva-Shemova.
